Use frosting to secure the circle onto the circular portion of the shark's base. Then cut the pointy part off the other half of cake. Use your serrated knife to carefully cut this pointed piece in half horizontally to create 2 side fins for your shark. Use frosting to attach them to the cake. (See photo below.)

For our Shark Cake design, we decorated 8 inch and 6 inch tiers with our Classic Vanilla Buttercream Frosting. Each tier was on it's own cake cardboard circle cut down to the size of the cake. Our bottom tier. was about 4 inches tall and top tier was about 5 inches tall. The top tier was supported from beneath by 4 bubble tea straw supports cut.
